Fall-ify your wardrobe.

Obviously, I've made it pretty clear that I love me some fall fashion! However, I can definitely see how parting ways with your summer wardrobe can be somewhat bittersweet. Don't fret, my friends! The transition can be pretty seamless. You can still wear your cute summer dresses- gone are the days when autumn meant wearing only shades of black and brown. Just fall-ify your summer outfits with some tights, boots, cardis etc. Here's how I've been doing it...

On another note, I had the pleasure of attending the Downtown Oakville & Mercedes-Benz Runway Show last. The event was hosted by fashion legend, Jeanne Beker. Although I didn't get to meet her (bummer!)- I'm pretty sure I got a smile? Maybe?
In any case, being in the same room as her was good enough for me! I mean, she's friends with Valentino and Karl Lagerfeld... 'nuff said.

Welcome to the jungle...

As I mentioned earlier this month- September has been the month of 80s throwbacks! Crüe was a ton of fun, and I'm ready to rock out all over again to some Slash tonight!
Not sure I'll be able to get as close up to the stage this time around (I mean, look at how awesome my pictures were from the last show!) but nonetheless, I am stoked. Myles Kennedy is a great singer as well, so overall I am anticipating some serious awesomeness.

Can't wait! Sigh, to be Fergie in this video... umm, minus the obsessive psychosis and all, hehe.

Indian Summer

Brrr how about that brisk autumn weather? Time to get out your scarves and wellies, ladies!

Although the weather is supposed to warm up again next week- I'm loving the cooler temperatures. I love the coziness of fall fashion- boots, sweaters, scarves... there is just so much more to work with! Whether you're dressing up, down, or somewhere in between- layers, textures and a darker colour palette are key. Think pops of deep jewel tones!

Stay warm out there! And load up on that vitamin C  =)

All in a TIFFy...

Although I don't claim to be a huge movie buff, it's hard not to get caught up in the excitement of TIFF! The city is bustling with excitement and if you're up for some late night partying, 4 am last call is in effect at many of Toronto's finest establishments... and you just might run into a celeb or two :)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to check out any movies this year. I heard that I missed some goodies... will definitely have to make it happen next year!

Of course, my favourite part of it all is the fashion! Thought I'd share my own personal 'Best Dressed' list with you...

Golden Girl Ashley Benson in a stunning Dolce & Gabbana gown from the Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Evening Collection.

Kate Hudson chose two leg-baring outfits- first a beautiful Alexander McQueen frock, followed by an Emilio Pucci dress and Christian Louboutin heels for a photo call the next day.

Kristen Stewart donned a feminine floral applique dress by Zuhair Murhad Couture, paired with some Jimmy Choos.

Anna Kendrick just might be Number 1 on my list! She walked the red carpet wearing Elie Saab (one of my faves!), and was also spotted in a Mulberry dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

I've got hugs for you if you were born in the 80s, the 80s...

I really wish I had enjoyed the 80s to their full potential. Not the 'Dirty Dancing' or the 'Sixteen Candles' version of the 80s... I'm talking over-the-top, no holds barred rock 'n' effing roll! But I guess there is only so a much a toddler can do :P
Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I'm a rocker at heart. If there is one thing I adore more than fashion- it's music! Not a month goes by without a hot ticket or several on my calendar. This month is definitely 80s themed- I've got Mötley Crüe coming up in a few days, and Slash later on this month. There's just something about that Sunset Strip-born rock that I seem to gravitate towards, despite my otherwise eclectic taste in music.

Anyway, I'm totally stoked!!!

What's the 411, hun?

This week has been really hectic- new job, and I'm loving every minute!
I will say this- it is difficult to be surrounded by beautiful garments and accessories all day long... definitely a lesson in self-restraint! As I style clients, all I can think of is "One for you, one for me...".

Beyond that, I'm just really excited for the fall season. The fashion, the weather... can't wait to get my leather jacket and boots out! I also feel like the craziness of the summer has finally subsided, and I'm ready to refocus my energy on new projects.  I'm revamping my closet and getting rid of the space fillers- autumn cleaning is like a cup of chicken soup for the fashionista's soul :)

I've also picked up a few fun new books to read, including Mindy Kaling's 'Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)', which I'll be starting tomorrow!
